Artist's Description

This painting is from my Lake Superior series and features some of the exquisite beach stones I saw there. I added two Monarch butterflies and an autumn maple leaf to complete the scene. Soon the Monarchs will be flying south to their winter home in Mexico. I plant milkweed seeds in my flower garden in the fall, to help sustain future generations of this endangered butterfly.
